Darian Kovacs
Position: Janitor +Darian Kovacs is a student studying Child and Youth Care through the University of Victoria. While in high school he sparked a national movement named canadafire to see Christian students be leaders and people of influence in their schools. Darian works a day a week with a church’s Youth Ministry and is on contract a day a week in South Surrey mentoring students and developing leadership curriculum for three public high schools. Darian is married to a beautiful girl named Liz who is studying Nursing at BCIT and has a baby boy named Caedmon (which means "wise warrior"). His hobbies are painting, drawing, playing rugby, and visiting the zoo.
Anita Steinberg
Position: Zoo KeeperAnita has never had any pets of her own (not counting the turtle she found in the ditch when she was a kid and enjoyed for 3 hours before he ran away), so she's thrilled to have the canadafire zoo to go wild in. She likes music lots and lots, as well as having friends over for a leisurely meal and stimulating conversation. One day she will live in Europe. But in the meantime she's excited to be part of God's bigger picture for Canada.

Sandy Rosen
Position: Board MemberSandy Rosen is an itinerant missionary and the director of Dance Barn Studio. As a speaker, dancer, and musician, Sandy is passionate about seeing Jesus transform nations through creative expressions of the Gospel. She's recently published "Off the Map" (http://www.offthemap.info/index.html), a story of the five-year faith journey of average folks who dared to trust in the power and love of God as they travelled across our country for the sake of God and Neighbour. She and her husband, Russ, live with their three daughters on the west coast of Canada.

Kara Douglas
Position: Board MemberAn avid traveler, Kara has studied in Mexico, USA and Canada. After graduating from Trinity Western University with an undergraduate degree in Communications, Kara worked for a couple of years writing government proposals and business/communication plans for a non-profit organization. Kara then moved to Chicago where she worked at The Center for Youth Ministry Studies at North Park University which exists to develop and equip men and women who minister to youth, and their families, churches, and communities. During her stay in Chicago, Kara was also able to complete her MBA with an emphasis in Marketing. You can find Kara and her husband, Tyler, enjoying city life, hanging out with friends, and dreaming of their next big trip.

Bill Absolom
Position: Board MemberRev. Bill emigrated from England to Canada in 1966 and within 6 months was converted through an unmistakable call of God. Since then, he's studied at International Bible College and Ontario Bible College; has worked in children's ministry and youth ministry; served as a Senior Pastor in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Wimbledon, England; he's planted a church in South Wales; and has worked extensively with '100 Huntley Street' and Crossroads Christian Communication as fund-raiser, evangelist, and regional director. Most recently, in 1997 Bill became the BC District Director of the Canadian Bible Society where he ministers in churches and finds volunteers who are passionate about seeing the Bible translated and distributed around the world. www.biblesociety.ca
